Congratulations to Lynn Harrington on receiving the Duke School of Medicine Research Staff Appreciation Award. The Research Staff Appreciation Awards recognize staff members who provide exemplary support in the conduct of research.

Mrs. Harrington was nominated by members of the Duke Vaccine Trials Unit (DVTU) and the Duke Clinical Research COVID-19 Task Force for her expertise in supporting the DVTU and SOM research mission in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrating a record of excellence.

"Lynn is a dedicated leader who is trusted by all those who work with her. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically increased the research volume for DHVI. Lynn was on the frontlines, assisting with COVID-19 inpatient studies in addition to the routine work on seasonal influenza and other vaccine trials. Lynn has the highest sense of research integrity and holds our research group to the highest ethical standards in the conduct of research. She sets high expectations for herself and for our team of clinical research coordinators and clinical research specialists. At the same time, she performs her work cheerfully making the workplace a fun place to be. Lynn has been key to the successes of the DVTU Research program. She is a highly respected clinical researcher in the Duke community and enjoys an excellent reputation within the national research networks to which our group belongs. She is most deserving of this appreciation award as she makes extraordinary effort to enhance the Duke Research Mission.” - Dr. Emmanuel "Chip" Walter, MD, Director, Duke Vaccine and Trials Unit
