Salvatore Scianna has worked on the NIAID/DAIDS Virology Quality Assurance Program for over 25 years. Sal oversees the production, validation, and distribution of HIV-1 quality control materials and proficiency testing panels for the VQA Program at Duke. He has extensive experience in commercially available virologic assays for the qualitative, quantitative, and genotypic characterization of HIV-1 and provides scientific support to laboratories participating in NIH-funded HIV clinical trials testing.
