Joel’s research focuses on elucidating:
1) how activated B cells integrate external and internal signals to direct their differentiation into memory B cells or antibody-secreting cells
2) how to elicit broadly protective humoral responses to influenza and HIV-1 vaccination
The aim of these projects is to inform the development of more effective vaccines to urgent global health threats, including HIV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2.
