DHVI Virtual Journal Club

Taking the DHVI Journal Club to a whole new level! #FBF to our FIRST virtual journal club! This past Monday, Alamgir Hossain, a Postdoctoral Associate in the Dr. Munir Alab laboratory, kicked things off with a presentation on his PhD research entitled, “Structural Elucidation of Viral Antagonism of Innate Immunity at the STAT1 Interface”. Dr. Hossain spoke about his work characterizing the interaction between a rabies virus protein and human protein and how understanding this important interaction can be used to design a live attenuated viral vaccine

At DHVI, Dr. Hussain is investigating the biophysical parameters of HIV-1 viral antigens to B cell activation and maturation. He will be studying the early signaling of B cell pathways to learn how to use those pathways to activate B cells to protect against antigens.
