DHVI Journal Club

Last week at the DHVI Journal Club, Dr. Stephanie Langel, a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Dr. Sallie Permar Laboratory, gave a special presentation on the biology of coronavirues and the origin of the recent SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. In her presentation, Dr. Langel shared updates on COVID-19 including in-progress therapeutics and vaccine development. Dr. Langel also facilitated discussions on CD4+ T cell induced vaccination strategies based on the paper, “Airway Memory CD4+ T Cells Mediate Protective Immunity against Emerging Respiratory Coronaviruses”. It was a large turnout for the Journal Club as our DHVI colleagues are eager to learn more about coronaviruses in order to better understand the predicament we now find ourselves in.
